At Park Square Fisheries in Ossett, the emphasis is on quality and value.

It’s quite simple  ­– we buy the very best ingredients and serve only the finest food. If for any reason we’re not happy with any dish, we won’t sell it.

And we cook to order, which means you get the freshest, hottest food – prepared to your specifications ­– while you wait. You won’t see any fish or chips hanging around and drying out in a hot box on our premises.

We start by sourcing the finest quality MSC-certified sustainable Haddock and the pick of the crop of potatoes from Lincolnshire farms, where the soil’s nutrients ensure great tasting chips every time.

They are then cooked in the finest dripping, which is filtered every day to ensure its purity.

And you can buy with real confidence at Park Square, because we have been awarded top marks – Grade 5 – for food hygiene by Wakefield Council, while our shop staff hold minimum level two qualifications in food safety.

And the value? Every decision we make is taken with you, the customer, in mind. That’s why we do a small fish and chips – a very generous serving – for just £4.50 at both lunchtime and teatime for those who can’t manage our regular portions.

We also sell pop and soft drinks, ranging from 30p to £2.50, for a 1.5L bottle
